After attentively working throughout the summer, and what has already been two very busy weeks of the fall semester, SigEp Kansas Alpha is proud to announce that we have acquired 12 new members with the finish of formal recruitment. As we are only just beginning to peel back the layers on our brother’s lives, we believe that it is our duty in sharing their impressive stories as we know them so far. Check back each week for an update on each of our new members!
Among Chad’s many achievements, it is quite apparent that golf and photography seem to be his two main squeezes. Chad took 14th place in 5A State golf and was a two time 2nd Team all League Golf participant in high school. If you think that is impressive, Chad is not only a golf pro, but a photography guru as well. Chad was deemed the Kansas High School Journalist of the Year, a Josten’s National Sports Photography contest winner, had the cover photo of the national magazine known as Communication: Journalism Education Today in the Spring of 2012 (photo here), and has had his photographs displayed twice as the cover in SPLURGE! Magazine based out of Wichita, KS. (Chad’s portfolio can be found at www.chadwphillips11.wix.com/photography)
When asked what the wallpaper on his phone was of, Chad instantly formed a huge grin on his face comparable to the size of the Grinch plotting his revenge on Who Town. After a few seconds of reminiscing, Chad pleasantly replied, “a picture of me and Caroline Glaser from NBC’s hit show, The Voice.” Chad went on in saying, “I got to meet her after taking pictures of her for the September 2013 cover of SPLURGE! Magazine. She was really nice and easy to talk to. My mom was trying to hook me up with Caroline during the photo shoot by telling her ALL about me.” At this point, with Chad’s slightly blushed cheeks filling the room, it was apparent that he had a mad crush on Caroline. “Multiple people have told me to ask her out because she’s famous and I’m, well, me!” After uncovering this love story I was sure to voice my approval of asking Caroline on a date sometime.
When asked what would be the first thing that you would save in a house fire, Chad replied, “My kitty named Kitty,” who can conveniently be viewed on Chad’s website!
It is quite apparent that we have a lot to learn about about new members and we can't wait to share their stories with you! It's great to be a SigEp!
